Jamie Pentz
President and Founder
Pentz brings more than 20 years of media and publishing experience to the High Country Media. Prior to founding the
company, Pentz served as President and Group Publisher of Mountain Sports Media: Ski magazine, Skiing magazine, Warren
Miller Entertainment and SkiNet.com. During his six years in the position, he oversaw all aspects of the business and
led the company to record profitability while also directing six successful product launches. Prior to his tenure at MSM,
Pentz spent 15 years with Time Inc. in Senior Sales and Management. He is a lifelong skier and mountain enthusiast.
Doug Powell
General Manager and Partner
Powell joined the team from Mountain Sports Media, where he was General Manager of both Mountain Sports Media
and Warren Miller Entertainment. Powell was part of the management team that grew profits 1,000 percent for WME,
increased attendance at the Film Tour by an average of 8 percent over nine years, increased ARP by 7 percent over the
period, tripled profits on their NASTAR signature event, and had revenues double on Skinet.com. Powell grew up in
Boulder, CO and has a degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado.
Marc Peruzzi
Editorial Director
The former Editor-in-Chief of Skiing magazine, Peruzzi began his magazine career as an editor at Outside magazine after
earning a Masters Degree in Journalism from the University of Montana. Prior to publishing, Peruzzi worked in the ski
industry as an instructor, ambassador, coach, shop manager, boot fitter, and buyer. Before taking over the role of Editorial
Director, Peruzzi pursued a successful freelance career built around his passions as an avid skier, cyclist, and outdoor
athlete. His work has appeared in Outside, Powder, Men’s Journal, Backpacker, Bicycling, Mountain Bike, Entrepreneur,
and Forbes.com.
David Allen Cox
Creative Director
Cox brings 14 years of magazine publishing experience to the Mountain Sports & Living team. After receiving an MFA
from Northwestern University—where he studied production and design—Cox began his career at Outside magazine. He
was on the design team that won three National Magazine Awards for general excellence, and received two Awards of
Excellence from Communication Arts, along the way. More recently Cox designed and photo-edited for Ford Motor Co.,
Skiing, Forbes, and Southwest Art.
Doug Sabanosh
Digital Media Director
Sabanosh played many roles during his more than 10 years at Mountain Sports Media including, magazine editor, online
editor and publisher, product tester, content producer, project manager and department director. Before pursuing a fulltime
career in sports media, Sabanosh worked in the ski industry as a racer, instructor, shop manager, boot fitter and ski
tech. A life-long skier from Connecticut, Sabanosh studied English Literature at the University of Colorado.
Rob Hudson
Events Director/Senior Account Manager
Hudson first entered into the ski industry as an instructor at Whiteface Mountain, which helped him pay for his St.
Lawrence University Bachelors Degree. Since then he has worked at the agency level and then spent his last 4 years at
Mountain Sports Media, running high profile events such as the US Freeskiing Open, NASTAR and The Suzuki Half
Pipe Jams. As a skier, cyclist, climber, and mountaineer, his passions overlap with his work.
David Taylor
Marketing Director
Taylor spent more than seven years with Warren Miller Entertainment, serving his last three as the Film Tour Director. His first four years at the company were spent in various arenas including marketing management, road crew management and performing voiceover work for various TV and company projects. Prior to joining the winter sports industry, he worked in the media and public relations department at the United States Olympic Committee. Taylor grew up in Boulder, CO, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Colorado College.
